The Poetic Goat
Wooden Jigsaw Puzzlemaking Process
Here the image has been attached to 1/4" Baltic Birch plywood.
I took the picture from an old calendar. It is called "Off the Wind" and was taken in 1937.
My scrollsaw, a 16'' Excalibur
The image has been cut out of the plywood and is ready to be turned into a puzzle.
The first piece. To make puzzles I need a blade that is .008'' thick.
The four J-boats in the background have been color line cut into figurals.
In order to make the puzzle more interesting for the puzzler, I made the water pieces different from the rest of the puzzle. Naturally, I made them a little more fluid.
The finished puzzle. About 150 pieces.
